Just read a thought provoking article on the issue of rising administration costs associated with PV system sales and installation here. Full credit to John Farell and Renewable Energy World for sharing this.
Although US based, it is entirely relevant in an Australian industry context, because this issue looms ever larger for our industry.
Its not a new issue; I’ve dealt with this issue countless times over the years and witnessed hundreds of companies doing their best to deal with it ever more efficiently.
What is most thought provoking is the fact is it is likely to get worse down under, before it gets better. Why? Because we are seeing a massive increase in the number of investigations, audits – and in some cases prosecutions - as a result of a minority of companies trying to short cut the system.
Paraphrasing Peter Drucker, he once said “Focus on opportunities rather than problems…Exploit change as an opportunity, and do not view it as a threat”.
Being compliant with standards, codes, OH&S and administrative process from Government are not problems. They present opportunities to be more efficient, safe, minimise risk and sleep better at night.
